Masters students on the module Environment and Culture (Socl 521)
Date: 13 December 2013
Masters students from Lancaster Environment Centre and the Sociology Department have been working together for the last 2 weeks to create a two-and-a-half hour symposium on their chosen topic: " A Collective Discussion on Socionatural Practices and Responsibilities Narrated through Time and Space"! The symposium/discussion was made up of three interlocking parts:
the cycling of wastes
media and the genetic modification of organisms
We had great discussions, presentations, films, the creation of objects from 'rubbish', a photo-montage, pizza, cake and coffee.
Thanks to all the class of Socl 521 for a great, stimulating and even moving morning!
