Professor Chris Whitty Visit to Lancaster University

On 22 and 23 September, the Chief Scientific Advisor to the Department of Health, Professor Chris Whitty and his Private Scientific Secretary, Alexandra Lee visited the University.

During the visit, colleagues from across the University highlighted the range of research undertaken by Lancaster in the areas of life sciences, health and medicine, in addition to our ambitious plans for the future research initiatives in these areas. Professor Whitty also gave an overview of the health challenges that the UK is likely to face in the next 20-30 years and emphasised how universities such as Lancaster will be ideally placed to drive forward solutions to these challenges, which are likely to be focused around specific geographical areas such as the rural and coastal regions of the North West.
