Lawrence Hamburg

Higher Education Academy

Lawrence Hamburg is Associate Director and Head of e-Learning at the Higher Education Academy. His background is in business management and educational studies and he has worked as a lecturer, staff and educational developer and learning technologist in the FE and HE sectors.

Before joining the Higher Education Academy, and after a short time at UKeU, Lawrence worked at the University of Leeds. During this time, he taught on the PG Certificate in Learning & Teaching in HE for new lecturers, was a module leader and developed several online routes. Lawrence also worked closely with the University's educational development unit in supporting staff across the University and advising senior management on e-learning developments/implementation issues. He has also worked in similar roles at Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Bradford.

In his current role Lawrence is responsible for the strategic direction of e-learning activities within the Academy's broader strategy.
