Young Researchers Forum

The Young Researchers' Forum (YRF) will run as usual before the main GISRUK conference, on the afternoon of Tuesday 10th April and the morning of Wednesday 11th April 2011. This valuable training opportunity is designed to raise awareness and confidence amongst research students in GIS, addressing a range of issues of importance related to embarking upon, progressing with and successfully completing a research project.

The forum will cover:
What we are and what we do Ourselves and our own research topics.
Presenting ourselves - The good, the bad and the ugly.
GISc: hammers hitting nails - Exploring the use of appropriate tools in our variuos areas of research
Critical Appreciation An exploration of how to review published and other information critically, in order to understand the message and to determine its relevance to the context required.
Getting Published - An exploration of some of the various routes to publishing research findings and to identify the requirements, opportunities and limitations involved.
