Get Ready For Your Graduation
What you need to do before your ceremony
Book your place and guest tickets for the ceremony
During registration you will confirm your attendance, request your guest tickets and confirm specific access/seating or other needs for you and your guests. Two guest tickets are guaranteed if you by book by the beginning of November. You should register even if you are as yet unsure of the outcome of your course. See our guest tickets policy for more information.
Online Registration has now closed. If you have not yet told us whether you plan to attend your ceremony or not, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
You can check how many tickets you have been allocated to you from 12 November 2013. Tickets will be posted to UK home addresses at the end of November. Tickets for students with non-UK addresses will be held for collection from the Ceremonies & Events Team before Graduation Day and from the Great Hall Ticket Office on Graduation Day. All ceremonies will be shown live in a nearby venue, which is staffed and fully accessible with Degree Day programmes available on request. Book your robes online
In keeping with the academic nature of the occasion and ceremonial tradition, all students wishing to attend their graduation ceremony must wear the correct academic dress. Normal wear under robes is a suit and tie for men and a plain dress or skirt/trouser suit for women. All gowns are booked through the University's official robemakers, J Wippell & Co Ltd.
Please note, plain colours look best under the robes. We regret that graduating students who are not dressed smartly may be turned away from their ceremony.
Clear any debts
If you are in debt to the University you cannot graduate. If you are in any doubt check your financial clearance online.
Invitation letters to support visa applications for students and their guests are available via the Student Registry webpages.
