Get Ready For Your Graduation
What you need to do before your ceremony
Book your place and guest tickets for the ceremony
During the registration booking process for your ceremony, you will confirm your attendance, request your guest tickets and confirm any specific access/seating or other needs for you and your guests. Two guest tickets are guaranteed if you book by 17 April. You should register even if you are as yet unsure of the outcome of your course. See our guest tickets policy for more information.
You can check how many tickets you have been allocated from the 29 May and tickets will be sent out to colleges to await collection at the beginning of June. For guests without tickets, all ceremonies will also be streamed live in the nearby Farraday Lecture Theatres.
Book your gown online
In keeping with the academic nature of the occasion and ceremonial tradition, all students wishing to attend their graduation ceremony must wear the correct academic dress. Normal wear under robes is a suit and tie for men and a plain dress or skirt/trouser suit for women. All gowns are booked through the University's official robemakers, Ede and Ravenscroft.
Please note, plain colours look best under the gowns. We regret that graduating students who are not dressed smartly may be turned away from their ceremony.
Clear any debts
If you are in debt to the University you cannot graduate. If you are in any doubt check your financial clearance online.
Invitation letters to support visa applications for students and their guests are available via the Student Registry webpages.
Book accommodation on campus if required
Contact the Conference office if you require overnight bed and breakfast accommodation on campus. Lancaster University has campus accommodation in County College available on a room only basis for just £22.00 per night during Graduation week.
