Are you about to supervise your first PhD student or in need of a reminder about how to maximise the effectiveness of your supervisory relationship? Then start the academic year by participating in the ‘foundations of good practice’ workshop. This one-day workshop is designed for those new to PGR supervision, those that may have supervised at other HEIs but are new to working at Lancaster and those who wish to refresh their knowledge of local procedures and good practice.

This interactive workshop will cover regulations and good practice in relation to the lifecycle of a PhD helping you to recruit the best students and ensure that all students complete on time and make significant research contributions.

Workshop Contributors

Sessions will be led by Professor Judith Williams and Dr Rachel Cowen, experienced academic developers from the University of Manchester sourced via Vitae. A range of internal colleagues are also involved in contributing.
