Emotional Intelligence and Resilience
Open to all staff.
While you may have heard about emotional intelligence as a concept, this workshop is a chance to learn in more depth about this important topic in order to assess your own capacity, extend it and to build the emotional strength and resilience required for the testing and multifaceted academic work environment that you may encounter.
At the end of the workshop you will:
- Be encouraged to build a knowledge and awareness of emotional intelligence (EI)
- Have the opportunity to engage with specific recommended tools and techniques to utilise EI
- Learn about the components of resilience and how this awareness can be used to manage stress and encourage a positive mindset.
Some background reading and application of theory through practical exercises will be encouraged.
Kath Houston is a career coach and freelance trainer and senior lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire with a special interest in personal development, confidence and resilience.
