Computer Workstation Assessment
Is this course for me?
This course is for anyone appointed by the Head of Department to assess computer workstations in accordance with University Guidance on the Implementation of the Display Screen Equipment Regulations 1992.
The course covers the The University procedure for assessing workstations in accordance with legal requirements as well as the recognition and avoidance of health issues arising from computer use. It also includes the principles of good posture and physical exercises you can do in the office to relieve strain. As well as Work and office environment planning it will also proide you with the practical solutions to common problems
At the end of the course you will be able to:
- Assess workstations and make recommendations for improvements where needed
- Understand the minimum standards contained in the regulations
- Provide advice to users
- Understand the procedures for arranging eye tests
- Understand their limits of competence and what support is available from the occupational health service
