The course is suitable for any student or member of staff who works with ionising radiation.

Course detail

The course covers the biological effects of exposure to ionising radiation, including the ‘internal’ and ‘external’ exposure pathways. It also introduces the concept of ‘dose’ and its relationship to risk and describes the basic principles of radiation protection. The course will also look at the key legal requirements that must be met when undertaking work with ionising radiation and describes the radiological risk assessment process and the development of a safe system of work.
