Information
Connection to the campus network from student residences and off campus
All students living on the University campus can connect their own computers to the campus network. For details see Residences Network (ResNet) connections web page.
Details of options for connecting to the University from off campus may be found on the Staff Home Working and Student OffCampus.
CD/DVD Writers
CD/DVD writers are available in all PCs in the Library and most ISS PC Labs. They take DVD-R disks. Warning: It is your responsibility to ensure you have permission to copy files.
Pen Drives
Front facing USB ports are available on the newer PCs in the PC Labs, for use with pen drives (memory sticks). Pen drives may be purchased from the LUSU shop (approx £35 for a 128 MB pen drive)
High Performance Computing
ISS provide a large array of high performance workstations for running user programs or packages requiring lengthy run-time, high memory or large amounts of disk space.
Please note, access to these services is restricted and authorisation from your department is required before you can register to use the equipment. Further information is available on the HPC web pages.
