File Storage & Sharing
Various services are available to staff for storing and sharing files securely; these are discussed in the video below.
We recommend that files are not stored on USB drives or just on the hard drive of your PC, as these locations are not backed up.
An interactive tool is available to help you decide where to store your files and guide you to appropriate resources. Services include:
For shared and personal storage - LU Box provides secure cloud storage. Files are accessible from anywhere via lancaster.ac.uk/box, mobile apps and on your PC or Mac using Box Sync. You can choose to share files with colleagues, students and external parties. More information about LU Box is provided in the video below.
For shared storage - Shared departmental files can be stored in departmental filestores on site at Lancaster University. Files are accessible via PCs on campus (normally via the P:, R:, S: and T: Drives respectively) and from off campus (using the VPN). Files are shared with departmental colleagues.
For personal storage - A personal filestore is available to store your files on site at Lancaster University. Files are accessible via PCs on campus (via the H: Drive) and from off campus (using the VPN). Files are accessible only to you.
