Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.4 is the current ISS workstation anti-virus solution for Windows 32bit and 64bit (including Windows 8) and Macs (including Mac OSX 10.9 Mavericks).
Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.4 (SEP12) will check for viruses, Trojans and other malware. If a piece of malware is found, it is either cleaned, deleted or quarantined. The hard disk can be specifically searched (scanned) for malware. If a virus is not removed by SEP, you will need to call the ISS Service Desk.

Lancaster University has a site licence for Symantec Endpoint Protection Corporate Edition. Symantec is one of the market leaders in the anti-virus field. This means that current staff and students are able to use Symantec Endpoint Protection to protect their PCs against viruses on-campus and at home. Symantec Endpoint Protection prevents PCs from being infected with known viruses and can disinfect some existing infections, usually without data loss.
