Q. Why did you choose to study at Lancaster University?
A. I had always wanted to go to a campus university and the setting was exactly what I was looking for in Lancaster. Lancaster also enabled me to study my ideal course: combining French & German.
Q. What were the best things about your course at Lancaster?
A. My Year Abroad was the stand-out element of my degree.
Q. How much did your Lancaster degree help you in your career?
A. My degree equipped me with a variety of skills which have proven invaluable in the world of work, and also enabled me to become much more confident in my abilities.
Q. How much did your language skills help you in your career?
A. I was hired because of my language skills which are useful not only in my specific job role, but also invaluable to the business as a whole, which operates across the UK, Europe, Russia, Middle East and Africa.
Q. How much did your year abroad help in your career?
A. My Year Abroad took me completely out of my comfort zone, enabling me to be more creative and problem-solve where necessary. It also developed my people skills which is essential when working as part of a large team.
Q. How has your career progressed since graduating?
A. I was promoted a year into my job and am working towards the next level which is Account Manager.
Q. What are the most important qualities for being successful in your role?
A. Communication skills, attention to detail, time-management and problem-solving.
Q. What do you like in your current role?
A. The responsibility we are given when working on high-profile projects with important clients/brands. The variety of the job role and the opportunity to travel.
Q. What snippet of career advice would you give to a current student?
A. Think outside of the box and ask recent graduates/friends/family for advice when looking for a job.
