Q. What were the best things about your course at Lancaster?
A. The tutors - very helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. Flexibility to study modules in other departments.
Q. How much did you Lancaster degree help you in your career?
A. It gave me many transferable skills, confidence and fluency in French and German, as well as good general knowledge, organisation and methodical working methods.
Q. How much did your language skills help you in your career
A. I am in the process of training 600+ French and German customers on a new ordering system and will be an account manager on French accounts, as well as back-up for German.
Q. How much did your year abroad help in your career?
A. It gave me the confidence I need to do large conference calls and the independence to survive in the professional world.
Q. How has your career progressed since graduating?
A. I have been working in my role for over 6 months and will become an account manager next week.
Q. What are the most important qualities for being successful in your role?
A. Language skills, organisation and a high standard of workload management.
Q. What do you like in your current role?
A. The independence of being an account manager, managing a high volume of different tasks and problem solving.
Q. What snippet of career advice would you give to a current student?
A. Start looking for jobs early and work out what interests you so that you know what to look for when it comes to doing applications and don't let rejection put you off!
