French Studies and Linguistics, 2015
I felt very much at home both in Lancaster itself and in the department, which is small and friendly with excellent expertise. The close-knit feel of the campus has meant that it is extremely easy to get involved in societies and to make your mark on the place, making it your own. Lancaster's location makes it perfect for travelling up to the Lake District, Manchester, Liverpool and even London.
The year abroad was a fantastic part of the degree which has influenced enormously the direction my life has taken since, both personally and in terms of my career. During my time abroad I was an English Language assistant which was extremely rewarding as it massively improved my communication skills in the two languages.
The final year culture modules were also an extremely interesting and valuable part of the course, as they were stimulating and brought together much of the knowledge and skills acquired through the first two years.
