Dr Agata Fijalkowski is curating an exhibit for the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford on the Albanian writer and political dissident Musine Kokalari.

The exhibit opens week 11 September and closes 16 October 2017. See https://www.scienceandmediamuseum.org.uk (What’s On).

The exhibit is accompanied by a short ‘arty’ film of Musine reading out her court statement at her 1946 trial. Agata was able to produce the film with support from Lancaster University Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Law School. She also worked with a talented team from the Department of Theatre, Film and Television at the University of York.

The exhibition is part of Agata’s project on The Power of Images, which explores our experience of the law when we view images. Agata’s selection of black and white photographs of trials from 1946-1957 have been collected from Albanian, German and Polish archives.

Agata has also written a short blog for the Law School on Musine's life, and a longer piece for The Conversation.
