In this joint LEC-Energy Lancaster seminar Dr. Nicolas Guillou (Deputy Director of Laboratory of Coastal Engineering and Environment, Cerema, France) will discuss the coastal hydrodynamics processes impacts of human disturbances and climate change on offshore marine renewable energies.
Nicolas’ research investigates the coastal hydrodynamics processes that interact at different spatial and temporal scales within continental shelves ecosystems and embedded shallow-water environments such as tidal straits, bays and estuaries. Particular attention is dedicated to the local and global ecological impacts of human disturbances and climate change(sea level rise, storm and flood regimes). He has also recent research interests in the offshore marine renewable energies, characterising the available wave and tidal resources and the potential ecological impacts of energy converters within marine ecosystems.
