Research Overview

My interests fall in two broad categories, one centred on plant cuticles and stomata, and the other on whole plants. (1) Mass transfer across leaf surfaces, e.g. uptake of ozone, persistent organic pollutants, etc.; determinants of cuticular uptake, including structure-function relationships; and concepts and mechanisms of regulation of stomatal conductance, especially in relation to air humidity. (2) Responses of woody species to elevated CO2 - physiological and growth responses, soil carbon inputs, and functional traits as predictors of responses. http://bssv01.lancs.ac.uk/gk/gk.html
