Sarah Blackford

Head of Education & Public Affairs

Sarah Blackford is the head of Education & Public Affairs at the Society for Experimental Biology (SEB). With a background in plant science research and publishing, and qualified to master’s degree level in careers education and guidance in HE, Sarah has responsibility for providing career support to PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. She also coordinates the science education, policy and communication programme for the SEB and is the editor of the membership newsletter. She has authored a book entitled ‘Career planning for research bioscientists’ and publishes a blog: www.biosciencecareers.org.
