Experience Days

We invite year 12 classes from local schools onto campus to experience what it is like to study either Biosciences, Environmental Science or Geography.

Lancaster University are offering local schools and colleges the opportunity to attend our popular Experience Days in 2018 on one of the following dates:

  • Tuesday 27th March
  • Wednesday 28th March
  • Tuesday 10th April
  • Wednesday 11th April

Biology Experience Days

Biology teaching staff and year 12 students are invited to attend one of our Biology Experience Days. The day will provide students with hands-on experience and an insight into Biology based degrees at university.

Key activities include:

  • Specialist, curriculum-relevant, laboratory activity based around blood samples delivered by Lancaster University experts
  • Short taster activities to show the breadth of the biosciences and encourage progression into university study
  • Advice on applying to university and writing a personal statement
  • Tours of laboratory facilities and state of the art equipment

Geography and Environmental Science Experience Days

Geography teaching staff and year 12 students are invited to attend one of our Geography and Environmental Science Experience Days. The day will provide pupils with hands-on experience and an insight into Geography and Environmental Science based degrees at university.

Key activities include:

  • Hands-on activities designed to be relevant to the A-level curriculum delivered by Lancaster University staff
  • Taster lecture to show the breadth of environmental degrees and to promote progression into university study
  • Advice on applying to university and writing a personal statement
  • Tours of the facilities within Lancaster Environment Centre
