Freshwater Biomonitoring Short Course
This year we are offering an introduction to freshwater biomonitoring short course on Friday 25th October, immediately prior to the Diatom Meeting. The course aims to provide hands on diatom work and an introduction to rapid assessment techniques. It is free of charge to those registered for the BDM and will take place at Newton Rigg (15 miles from Blencathra) using the Eden Demonstration Test Catchment. The DTC’s are highly instrumented and intensively monitored catchments funded by DEFRA to address issues of diffuse pollution. If you are interested in attending this event please contact Maria Snell
