Isoprene is the most abundant biogenic volatile organic compound emitted from vegetation and has been suggested to have protective role in plants under stress conditions. This talk will be focused on the role of isoprene emission in physiological performance of Arundineae tribe which consists of several strong isoprene-emitting members (e.g. Arundo donax). The effect of isoprene emission on drought tolerance of A. donax will be further discussed.
