Dr. Jan Verbesselt, associate professor in remote sensing at Wageningen University, will share with us his work using remotely sensed images for ecological modelling, collaborative earth science, assessing vegetation and climate, and the impact of human activity in tropical forests, including his open-source toolkit, BFAST.

Tropical Futures research challenge
Patty Villarrubia of the Stockholm Resilience Centre, is interested in the research of sustainable practices and exploring how these are constructed. She combines her background in natural science with social science, activism and her passion for healthier oceans, paying special attention to themes such as plastics in the ocean, resilience, multistakeholder perspectives, and science communication.
