Tuition Fees for Taught Masters Study - 2015 Entry

We offer a variety of scholarships and bursaries that can help to fund your LEC Masters degree in 2015/16. Some are open to all LEC Masters applicants and others are attached to a specific Masters programme.

Lancaster Environment Centre Scholarships

  • Eligible programmes: All LEC Masters degrees
  • Funding available: Several scholarships worth £1,500 (UK & EU applicants) and £3,000 (Overseas applicants)
  • Who can apply: UK, EU and Overseas applicants

Heatherlea Bursary

  • Eligible programme: MSc Ecology and Conservation
  • Funding available: One scholarship worth £1,500
  • Who can apply: UK and EU applicants

Application process:

To be considered for the above two awards you need to:

  1. Already have an offer of a place on a relevant LEC Masters degree.
  2. Email the LEC PG Office with a short supporting statement, including your name, applicant ID and reasons why you should be considered for funding (max 250 words).

The funding will be allocated on the following criteria:

  • academic excellence, for example 1st class/high 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent)
  • awards for academic performance, publication of dissertation
  • relevant work/voluntary experience.

We are unable to make decisions based purely on financial grounds.

Sustainable Agriculture & Food Security Scholarships

  • Eligible programme: MSc Sustainable Agriculture & Food Security
  • Funding available: Five scholarships, two worth £2,500 (UK & EU) and three worth £5000 (Overseas)
  • Who can apply: UK, EU and Overseas applicants

Submit maximum 1 page (Arial 12 font, 2.5 cm margins, 1.5 line spacing), to Dr Ian Dodd, addressing the below two issues:

- How this donation will help you realise your educational ambitions

- Your ideas for dissertation research in the area of Sustainable Agriculture & Food Security

Lancaster Master's Scholarship

Lancaster University will be offering over 100 Masters scholarships of £10,000 as part of a government initiative to offer additional support for students wishing to progress to Master's level study. The scheme is open to UK/EU students who began their studies after 1 September 2012 and who meet certain eligibility criteria.

Alumni Loyalty Scholarship

If you have an undergraduate degree from Lancaster University or one of our partner institutions and choose to study for a Masters at Lancaster in October 2015, you will receive an automatic fee reduction.  There will be a 20% discount if you receive a 1st class degree and a 10% discount if you have a 2:1.

Peel Trust Studentships

Peel Trust Studentships are available for the support of prospective or current Lancaster University students. The award is based on academic merit and financial hardship and is up to an individual maximum of £2500.  Application form available online from 6 March 2015.
