Lancaster University is ranked in the top 10 for interactions with Small and Medium Enterprises.
LEC’s Business Partnerships and Enterprise Team has contacts with over 2000 companies across the UK, and this provides our students with opportunities to gain a wide variety of work placements. Our postgraduate students also often undertake industry-based dissertations and projects.
We work with 26 environmental companies, who have offices in LEC and take advantage of our environmental expertise. This is where LEC's pioneering research can be used directly, to formulate environmental solutions to world issues. We also share facilities with the Environment Agency and the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology.
LEC runs taught modules on the links between enterprise and the environment, as well as offering dissertation projects within industry to provide you with valuable, transferable work experience. These dissertation projects are available for both our undergraduate and taught postgraduate degree programmes.
Combining these opportunities with the employability training provided by our excellent Careers Service will ensure that you are highly attractive to employers upon graduating.
"We use our extenstive links with business and environmental organisations to provide opportunities for our students to gain invaluable work experience and kick start their careers" says Ruth Alcock, Head of Business Partnerships and Enterprise.
We successfully place students from all LEC degree schemes into organisations each year, ranging from regional SMEs to International Corporations. We can also work with you to help promote your graduate and undergraduate opportunities.
