Lancaster University’s Careers Centre provides a dedicated and innovative careers service for students and graduates.
You benefit from a Careers service which offers life-long support. Our Careers team is there to support both current students and Lancaster University alumni in improving their employability or finding graduate-level employment.
High quality work experience undertaken as a student can help in a competitive graduate labour market. Internships are organised directly by the Faculty of Science and Technology, putting students into relevant paid roles during their time at Lancaster.
Earn whilst you learn
There are a large number of part-time employment opportunities available to Lancaster students both on our campus and elsewhere in the area. Our on-campus recruitment agency advertises available part-time work, ensuring students have access to quality employment which will develop a range of transferable skills.
Help and advice
There are numerous ways that you can get help to progress or explore your career options, including 1:1 advice sessions with dedicated careers staff, CV checking and mock interviews.
In addition to the face-to-face service, located within The Base, Lancaster students have exclusive access to a comprehensive package of online products and services through the Knowledge Bank.
We put our students in contact with many of the UK's top graduate recruiters and also many local companies through our careers fairs and events.
The Lancaster Award, developed in partnership with employers, is a certificate that rewards you for making the most of your time at Lancaster. It will enhance your future employment prospects by encouraging you to undertake extra-curricular activities and acquire new skills and experiences valued by employers. As part of the award, you will undertake a variety of activities and reflect on the skills you have developed. You will be assessed via submission of a mock job application form.
