During this week long field trip, you will have the opportunity to visit a range of food settings including urban markets, industrial food production sites and ethnic food stands. Through independent and group study, you will engage with a number of issues including commodity chains, cultural protectionism, genetic modification and green economies. As part of the trip you will also explore the temporal and spatial links between food production and consumption, and discover how food, culture and politics are interwoven into daily life and that of the dinner table!
