Over the next few weeks, you may chance upon Dr Emily Winter wondering around the Library with a clipboard

Emily is a Senior Research Associate on the iGen project, a research project led by Lancaster University and Stanford University, US.  The project is exploring the lives and values of today's students, and Emily is particularly interested in the dynamics of time spent alone and time spent with others. She would like to know how you prefer to study.

As part of the research, Emily will also be spending three days in the Library, making some simple observations about how library users use the space (for example whether people are working individually or in groups, and what forms of digital device they might be using).  No data gathered will enable the identification of individuals and the iGen project has full ethical approval.

Emily is very happy to answer any questions you may have about the project. You can find out more about her on her staff webpage, or email your queries to her.
