Special Collections exhibition for Lent term 2017

The current exhibition is at the end of the Atrium in the exhibition area near Special Collections in Lancaster University Library.  It showcases a selection of material available in the Jack Hylton Archive

Jack Hylton was a bandleader and theatre impresario. The archive reflects his career spanning the 1920s to 1960s. It contains material relating to popular music from 1920-40s and theatre productions from 1940s to 1965.

Some of the topics from the archive highlighted in the exhibition are:

  • Theatre Productions

You can also see a bust, baton and cast hand of Jack Hylton in the Magic Box near the library entrance along with other digital items.
