Connection files for integration with OneSearch, terms lists and style files.
Connection files enable EndNote to link to and search online bibliographic services (library catalogues and bibliographic databases) and download the references found directly into EndNote libraries.
The default EndNote installation contains almost 500 connection files for commonly used online services. The connection files are usually located in the folder "C:\Program Files\EndNote n\Connections", but this depends on the options selected when EndNote was installed.
The connection file for the Lancaster University Library catalogue is not included in the default installation, so if you have purchased EndNote you will not have this connection, but you can copy it from this page to the EndNote Connections folder on your computer. Save the file and then copy and paste it into your connections folder.
Medical Journal terms list
If you use the Vancouver style (for medical students), you need to import the medical journal terms list to ensure that you have access to journal title abbreviations. In EndNote click on Tools, Open Term Lists and Journals Term List. Delete the entries in the Terms tab and click on the Lists tab. Import the Medical Journal terms list file available below - save it to your computer first.
Vancouver (Liverpool) for medical students
You can use the Vancouver (Liverpool) style to format your documents. Paste the style in to the styles folder in the EndNote X5 program in your C drive (in program files), or if you can't access this, in the EndNote, Styles folder in the My Documents section of the H drive. You will need to save the file to your computer first.
