Problems Signing In?

If you have forgotten your network password or you have not used or changed it within the last year please contact the ISS Service Desk, who will be able to advise.

If you are having problems logging into Library services, please follow this troubleshooting guide before reporting it as an issue.

I'm not seeing the correct login form

Click the following link to reset your login and log in to your chosen service. You will be asked to confirm your logout and then automatically taken to the login page.

OneSearch

If this does not solve the problem, clear your browser's cookies and web page cache (see below) and try again.

Students and members of staff with a University network account should see a login page with the heading 'CoSign' where you can enter your network login and password.

Library users who do not have a University network account should see a login page asking for your Library Card number and password.

I can't login to Athens-protected resources

Clear your browser's cookies and web page cache (see below), close and restart your browser, then sign in to OneSearch. Now try to access the Athens-protected resource again.

I get a blank page after logging in using VPN

Check your browser's proxy settings are configured correctly for the University network and try again. See the appropriate ISS guide for setting up your VPN connection and web browser.

Clearing your browser's cache

Please note:These instructions cover the most recent browser versions running on Windows (XP,Vista,7) and may vary depending on your browser version and operating system. If the instructions do not apply to your browser and operating system, please see the section "Other Browsers/Operating Systems."

Google Chrome

  1. Click the settings (spanner) button next to the location bar
  2. Select Tools -> Clear browsing data
  3. Check Empty the cache and Delete cookies and other site data (to be completely sure, check all options)
  4. Click Clear browsing data
  5. Close all browser windows and restart your browser

Firefox

  1. Select Tools -> Options or Edit -> Preferences
  2. Select the Privacy tab
  3. Click the Clear your recent history link
  4. Set Time range to clear to Everything
  5. If you cannot see a list of checkboxes under Details, click the V (down arrow) button
  6. Check Cookies, Cache and Active Logins (to be completely sure, check all options)
  7. Click Clear Now
  8. Close all browser windows and restart your browser

Internet Explorer

  1. Select Tools -> Internet Options
  2. Click Delete under Browsing History
  3. Uncheck Preserve Favorites website data
  4. Check Temporary Internet files and Cookies (to be completely sure, check all options)
  5. Click Delete
  6. Close all browser windows and restart your browser

Opera

  1. Select Tools -> Delete Private Data from the menu bar or Settings -> Delete Private Data from the Menu button
  2. If you cannot see a list of checkboxes under Detailed Options, click the V (down arrow) button
  3. Check Delete session cookies, Delete all cookies and Delete entire cache (to be completely sure, check all options)
  4. Click Delete
  5. Close all browser windows and restart your browser

Safari

  1. Click the settings (cog) button next to the location bar
  2. Select Reset Safari
  3. Check Empty the cache and Remove all cookies (to be completely sure, check all options)
  4. Click Reset
  5. Close all browser windows and restart your browser

Other Browsers/Operating Systems

Your browser's Preferences or Options screen should include an option to delete your browsing history and data. Select the longest time period allowed (usually "Everything" or "From the beginning of time"). You must delete your cookies and cache (saved web pages), but to be completely sure, we recommend that you delete all of your browsing data. Close all browser windows and restart your browser before trying to login again.
