For Schools & Colleges

Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts (LICA) welcomes interaction with schools, colleges and local organisations.

We engage in activities such as:

  • University Taster Days where year 12 students visit LICA and other departments within the Faculty for a taste of university-style learning. The next Taster Day will take place on Friday 29th June 2018.
  • Outgoing visits to Schools/Colleges to give a subject taster session to students, including: practical workshops, short talks and presentations on the undergraduate degree opportunities at LICA.
  • Incoming visits from Schools/Colleges inviting A-Level groups to come and visit our department with the opportunity to see our award winning LICA building including our rehearsal, performance, exhibition, installation, seminar and workshop spaces.
  • Teacher Inset Days which take place during the October school INSET day and provide teachers from the South Lakes Federation (SLF) schools with the opportunity to explore the LICA building and facilities, gain hands-on experience of cutting edge research techniques and time to discuss the school curriculum and recent changes.

If you are interested in our outreach activities and would like to organise a visit please get in touch to find out more, contact Victoria Sharp.
