LICA is very pleased to announce that group of drawings by second year Fine Art undergraduate Luke Treece-Birch have been selected for a national touring exhibition of artist’s sketchbooks: SKETCH OPEN 2017.

Luke’s sketchbook of drawings of Rossal Beach done for his Lancaster Documentary Drawing module is one of a hundred selected by SKETCH from a submission of over 500 from professional and student artists and designers. The event has been organised by the Rabley Drawing Centre and the exhibition has start at their prestigious research and exhibition space in Marlborough before moving on to Frome and Plymouth and finishing at the Peter Scott Gallery, Lancaster University between the 20th November  and the 15th December 2017.  His tutor Gerry Davies said "it’s a high quality exhibition attracting serious artists, but Luke draws really well, his work will look totally at home.". There are several prizes associated with SKETCH, including one of £500 given by Lancaster Arts for a new commission. So, fingers crossed for our Luke and congratulations!
