Why did you choose your course at Lancaster?
Convenience and the self-contained campus, also I had previously completed an MA in Contemporary Art Research, a PhD at Lancaster seemed to be a logical progression.
What was the best part of your course?
The facilities and the excellent mentoring.
How did your degree help with the work you do now/what are you hoping to do when you finish university
As I am retired work was not an issue. I am an autodidact and the sense of achievement is enormous. I hope to develop some of the areas of research I have explored further either as papers or possibly a modest book.
What is ‘Lancaster Life’ like?
Compact, all facilities within easy reach.
Any advice for the next generation of LICA students?
To all mature students particularly, do not let age be a barrier to furthering your acquisition of knowledge. Exercising the brain as is important as the exercising of any other part of your anatomy.
