I work with women leaders and managers in multi-national corporations and I am intersted in the way patterns of spoken interaction constrain (and enable) getting work done and how they shape (gendered) asymmetries of power.
My research is about adding linguistic detail to understandings of the micro-dynamics of power in workplace conversations and the ways in which these contribute to women’s experience of agency in professional settings. I focus on women’s experience of workplace conversations, and in particular women’s perceptions of power and influence in mundane everyday spoken interactions.
