Congratulations to Dr Sam Kirkham, one of the overall winners of the ‘Undergraduate Teaching Award’ in the 2016 Lancaster University Student Led Teaching Awards.

These awards are given annually for "excellence in teaching in the Department, as nominated by the student body" and are particularly meaningful because they involve students nominating their lecturers.

The committe commented that "This year we received a record number of nominations for staff members across the University for this award with the standard being exceptionally high."

Sam was chosen as one of the overall winners of this award and commended for his excellent contribution to enhancing the student experience at Lancaster University.

The winners were invited to attend an awards reception event, hosted by the Vice-Chancellor and the Students’ Union where they received their awards in person.

We are proud that several of our colleagues have received awards for their teaching. These awards reflect qualities of innovation, commitment, attention to students' learning and to maximising their learning opportunities.
