The Department of Linguistics and English Language at Lancaster University has been ranked 3rd in the country for Linguistics in 2018 Times Good University guide, up from 5th in 2017.
We are ranked 19th in the world for Linguistics in the International QS rankings 2017, we have now been in the top 20 in the world for five years in a row. Linguistics at Lancaster is consistently ranked in the top 10 in the UK in The Times Good University Guide and the Complete University Guide.
Lancaster University as a whole has has recently been named University of the Year for 2018 by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 and has achieved its elite target of top ten positions in all the UK’s major university league tables.
Lancaster University has also been awarded the highest possible score in the UK government's Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) ratings. Our TEF Gold rating is based on high quality teaching, excellent teaching facilities and the good careers our graduates go into.
