The funding will enable Salomé to collect data from teacher educators based in various locations in Chile and to share her initial findings at the 2017 Language Testing Research Colloquium in Colombia.
In her doctoral research, Salomé will be looking into the language assessment literacy of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teacher educators, whose role it is to prepare pre-service teachers for key areas of the teaching profession. Salomé will explore the extent and nature of the language assessment literacy training teacher educators conduct with pre-service EFL teachers. Insights gained into the language assessment literacy of teacher educators in Chile are anticipated to lead to advice and training on teacher educator assessment literacy and on teacher education programme design. The study will hopefully also positively impact on the language assessment literacy development of pre-service teachers and on the assessment knowledge and practices of EFL teachers in Chile.
