CFA Training Module

Our Masters programmes include a special CFA dissertation aimed at suitably qualified students wishing to sit the June CFA Level I examination.

This dissertation stream offers specialist professional tutoring to help boost your chances of success in the CFA exam and 90% of respondents in a recent survey had passed the CFA Level 1 training (June 2016).

On this dissertation module you will benefit from five weeks of specialist teaching from professional CFA tutors from Fitch Learning, covering the entire CFA Level I syllabus with topics such as:

• Quantitative methods

• Financial reporting and analysis

• The income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement

• Ethical and professional standards

• Financial reporting and analysis

• Fixed income: Basic concepts and Analysis and valuation

• Corporate finance

• Alternative investments

• Equity: Securities markets and Industry and company analysis

• Portfolio management

• Derivative investments

• Economics: Microeconomic analysis and Market structure and macro economic analysis

• Monetary and fiscal economics

Classroom teaching is supplemented by online support via Fitch Learning’s CFA training portal. In addition to allowing you to review material at your own pace, the portal offers additional learning materials, practice CFA questions, performance monitoring, and real-time feedback.

On completion of the module, you will sit a 3-hour mock Level I examination. Results from the mock exam contribute 42% to your overall dissertation mark.

The CFA dissertation is open to all students on the MSc Finance and MSc Accounting and Financial Management programmes, subject to meeting minimum performance conditions during the first term. There is no additional charge for the CFA module.
