European Banking Centre Network


Members of EBC network at LUMS work on a wide spectrum of topics in banking both from the accounting and finance perspective. Research in accounting includes topics related to bank accounting such accounting for credit risk, loan losses, securitization, as well as topics on the interaction of accounting and banking regulation (e.g., minimum capital requirements, disclosure). Research in finance covers topics in banking regulation (e.g., micro and macro-prudential policies, deposit insurance, market discipline, resolution mechanisms), industrial organization in banking (e.g., market structure bank performance), as well as topics on the intersection of banking and corporate finance (e.g., asymmetric information and contract design, relationship banking and SME finance, credit guarantee programs, financial constraints, cash flow allocation, and capital structure).
