Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) accreditation

The information below relates to  graduates from 2008 to 2014. (Graduates from previous years should access the CIMA website to view the exemption packages available for earlier graduating years.)

A new syllabus CIMA is effective from 2015.  We are currently in the process of re-accrediting our degree schemes and exemptions for this new syllabus and the information provided here will be updated in due course.  We expect to receive a similar level of accreditation as for previous years.

CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting

Automatic exemption from Papers C1 to C5 of the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting is given to candidates attaining honours standard (i.e. class III or above) in the following degrees:

N.B.  Lancaster’s recently introduced ‘Industry’ degrees have not yet been formally accredited by CIMA but, given that their academic content is the same as the ‘non-Industry’ variants, we assume that CIMA will offer the same exemptions.

Please note: modules LAW 217, LAW 317 and LAW 318 have recently been replaced by ACF 270 and ACF 370 which cover the same material.  We anticipate that the new modules will attract the same (Business Law) exemption as the superseded modules.
