London Creative and Digital Fusion is a programme of interactive, tailored and in-depth support for creative and digital SMEs across London, helping them innovate and grow.
Fusion provides links to talent, expertise and resources from leading-edge universities and colleges. The programme will be open to 1,000 ambitious, growth-focused SMEs over a two-year period (October 2012-June 2014).
The project was born out of the recognition of the business opportunities from widespread availability of digital and mobile technologies to enable the delivery of creative content and services to wider markets and generate new business models.
The programme has been designed to help SMEs build their innovative capacity through proven interventions with seven leading innovation-focused organisations:
- Lancaster University Management School – lead partner
- Imagination Lancaster
- The Work Foundation
- Royal College of Art
- Queen Mary University of London
- Centre of Creative Collaboration, University of London
- Council for Industry and Higher Education
The programme will be delivered in three phrases.
SMES will be invited to attend events and sessions that will showcase new thinking on business models and management as well as technologies and markets.
These events will provide SMEs the opportunity to listen to high-profile speakers and experts on emerging trends within the digital and creative sector.
SMEs can access in-depth support through 1-2-1 mentoring, student projects, entrepreneurial learning and interactive training on specialist areas such as service design and management for innovation.
SMEs on the programme can also join facilitated workshops which use the latest techniques for creative thinking and developing ideas for business growth.
SMEs can apply for Innovation Vouchers worth up to £10k for individual or partnering SMEs to purchase intensive support from leading higher education institutions and research organisations across London to harness postgraduate student talent.
