It was designed to provide formalised ideas and frameworks for analysing and understanding change, power structures, stakeholders, and emotional responses and preferences.

Hospice UK is the national charity for the UK hospice movement, and represents the interests, views and concerns of more than 200 local charities which together provide most of the hospice care across the country. A new programme, recently developed for the charity by LUMS, has been designed to address the needs and challenges facing hospices and leaders in palliative and end-of-life care.

International Health Leadership Development Programme

The Kenya Red Cross works to help people dealing with a variety of issues, including drought, healthcare problems and poor sanitation. The International HIV/AIDS Alliance is an organisation which works in communities to try and end the virus. The two organisations commissioned LUMS to create a programme which would help their employees improve their leadership skills.

Lancashire Constabulary

Lancashire Constabulary provides policing services across Lancashire – its six divisions look after an area of around 2,000 square miles, covering 124 miles of coastline, 256 miles of motorway and encompassing both large rural areas and major towns. The Constabulary decided to commission a senior leadership development programme that exposes some of its key senior leaders to different ways of thinking about leadership that would help them move beyond a traditional command and control approach.

The Singapore Armed Forces encompasses the Singapore Navy, Army and Air Force. They had identified a need to develop coaching capabilities which would support the development of next generation leaders in all three branches of the organisation. In particular, they were looking for a programme with academic rigour which would enable their senior officers to coach a cadre of high-calibre junior officers who had already been selected for a high-potential programme.

It is a programme that focuses on behavioural aspects of management, as opposed to a skills or knowledge-based one, and it integrates personal growth, leadership development and commercial awareness.
