The annual sporting competition against York University is back and bigger than ever. This year is the 50th Roses competition, right here on home turf at Lancaster and we're hoping to take back the Carter James Cup and triumph in front of a home crowd. The fierce rivalry draws supporters every year to the competition, including our returning alumni. We would love to see you at 50th Roses, to support Lancaster, get behind the red rose and celebrate the success of our teams over the last 50 years!
This is an informal opportunity for alumni to come back to campus with friends and even take part in some fixtures. This event is being organised by the Students' Union and will involve an Opening Ceremony on the evening of Friday 2nd May and a weekend of sporting fixtures.
Saturday 3rd May - 11am and 3.30pm
The alumni team will be in a welcome marquee in the Roses Village (outside the Sports Centre) offering a glass of cava, fruit pots and an alumni Roses supporter pack. This is free but please register your attendance using your ID number. Please visit the Roses website for more information on fixtures and activities over the weekend.
Jason Queally MBE (Gold medallist in English track cycling, Sydney 2000 Olympic games) will be holding a Q&A session entitled ‘My Journey into Cycling’ on Saturday at 12:15 at the Sports Centre as part of the Roses weekend, to register please visit our Eventbrite pages.
Jason Queally will also be starting off our three family bike routes, more details can be found here.
