Postgraduate study

There are a number of entrepreneurship PhD students on the PhD in Management whose research builds on the research interests of the Centre for Family Business.

The following students are supervised within the department:

We always welcome applications from well qualified applicants interested in full or part-time study for a PhD, and aim to provide as much support as possible to students in the development of their work. Part-time applicants must demonstrate how they will provide the time and resources to complete their PhD and successful applicants will be expected to visit Lancaster on a regular basis for supervision and training.

We welcome applications from those whose research proposals complement the existing interests of staff. Applicants should complete a proposal which follows the guidelines for the PhD in Management.

UK applicants should have at least an upper second class honours degree, normally in a social science subject. Applicants without a Masters degree in a relevant area will usually be required to complete an MRes as preparation for the PhD. Overseas applicants should hold equivalent qualifications and, if their first language is not English, they will be required to demonstrate sufficient competence in English. As a guide, our normal minimum entry requirements are 7.0 in IELTS, or 600 TOEFL (250 on computer-based test).

Informal enquiries should be addressed to the Doctoral Director, Dr Sascha Walter.
