Introduction to Operations Management

Operations Management is a core managerial discipline for all kinds of organisations, from private sector manufacturing through to public sector services.

This module introduces you to the role of operations managers, covering a range of topics including: operations design, capacity planning and control, supply chain management, inventory, forecasting, and quality management.

By the end of the module you should be able to:

a) Identify different kinds of operations and predict their attributes
b) Apply basic planning and analysis techniques to particular cases
c) Understand operations problems and find improvement strategies

Assessment 50% coursework and 50% exam
