After five years of working as a graphic designer, I decided to study for a Masters degree in Marketing in the UK to change my career into the marketing field. I chose Lancaster University because of its high UK rankings and because of the excellent international reputation of its Management School.

Now that I have finished my Masters I can say that it was the best option that I could have taken, as the knowledge and personal experience that I gained surpassed my expectations and have prepared me with solid bases for the future business and marketing fields in which I will be working.

Lancaster University Management School has highly qualified teachers, good teaching methods and excellent study and sports facilities but it also has a great student community that made me feel at home and helped me to focus on my studies.

Study abroad experience

My overall experience was enhanced when I was selected by LUMS to take part in the Study Abroad scheme in Renmin University in Beijing, China, on the Renmin MBA programme for one semester.

I was also awarded a scholarship from the that has really helped me make this experience very positive. I was able to be very active in my participation during the classes at Renmin due to the knowledge that I gained during my Masters programme at Lancaster, and due to the company-based project with a UK company which I completed as part of my MSc dissertation project.

Before I did the MSc in Advanced Marketing Management I do not think that I would have been able to have a strong opinion about MBA topics. Study abroad in China has helped me expand my business understanding of other economies, enhance my managerial knowledge and make closer relationships with the Chinese market, perhaps to collaborate in the future in the development of a personal business in Mexico.
