Management, Sustainability and the Natural Environment

The module focuses upon the relationships between management theory, practice and the natural environment.

The first part of the module examines how management have conceptualised the range of environmental issues which have emerged since the rise of industrial society.

We then consider different aspects of sustainability focusing upon ecological modernisation, consumerism and ecological economics.

In the conclusion the nature complexity and the implications for policy making are examined.
