Other sections in Research Centres & Areas:
A coordinating hub for healthcare related research across the different departments of the school, and via the Health Innovation Campus (HIC) across the wider university.
With input from all seven academic departments of the Management School, the Centre’s current focus includes analytics and modelling, leadership and organisational development, and aspects of productivity and efficiency. A further important dimension of this Centre is its focus on conducting research in a multi-disciplinary fashion, drawing on experts from across the Management School or across the University. This Centre also seeks to develop a strong element of co-production in its research, working closely with local and national practitioners and managers across a wide range of healthcare topics.
We aim to offer a point of access to the global expertise available within LUMS; to undertake ‘real world’ healthcare management research; and to have an impact on healthcare management policy within local, national and international contexts.
Our research activities incorporate several areas, with a variety of projects aiming to address current issues within healthcare.
This Centre is an active participant in the development of the new Health Innovation Campus at Lancaster University, a pioneering new project that will bring together innovators, academics, entrepreneurs, businesses, local government, citizens and health care providers.
We're involved in the proposed Healthy New Town at Whyndyke Farm, Blackpool, which is one of ten pilot sites in the UK designed to encourage healthy living and innovation.
Our varied research projects explore themes including the design of radiotherapy treatment plans, A&E staffing, obesity trends and IT systems.
